Our Lady Help of Christians features a dynamic and lively music ministry. Our chief responsibility is to lead and inspire the voice of the congregation at regular Eucharistic liturgies, and special events. We encourage and inspire active, prayerful, and enthusiastic singing from the assembly through effective music leadership.

At Our Lady Help of Christians, we feature a blended worship style, including contemporary and traditional liturgical music. All are welcome to participate in our music ministry by singing in our choirs, or providing instrumental accompaniment.

Our music ministry is made up of a dedicated group of parishioners who volunteer their time and talents to praise God in song. Through our music ministry, they receive an ongoing musical and spiritual deepening, as well as an ongoing education in music and liturgy.

Under our Director, our Music ministry is represented by the American Guild of Organists, the American Choral Directors Association, and the Church Musicians Guild of Buffalo (a division of the National Association of Pastoral Musicians Guild.) Our ministry members also represent Our Lady Help of Christians at various diocesan musical events throughout the year. We welcome new members at any time. Please contact our Director of Music for more information.

In addition to music in our liturgies, Our Lady Help of Christians hosts various musical events throughout the year including several concerts and recitals. Interested performers and ensembles are encouraged to contact our Director of Music.

Our Director of Music, Joel S. Kumro, can be reached at (716) 803-4699.

Our Lady Help of Christians is also home to two organs which serve our Music Ministry. In our historic Chapel, we have a two-manual, 22-stop, 15-rank, 934-pipe organ, originally built by Tellers-Kent, which was completely rebuilt by Heritage Pipe organs in 2011. Our main Church is home to a three-manual, 44-stop, 53-rank Galanti Praeludium classic organ. More information on these instruments can be obtained by contacting our Director of Music.
